Happy 50 to me

What do you buy that is age appropriate when your 50? I've no idea I've gone and brought another dolls house. I did run though a list of what might be considered age appropriate gifts but I think at 50 it's just time to give up the pretense I'm ever going to make a success of acting my age. Due to illness my body may now feel like it's ready for the knackers yard most days but my heart, soul and head have still hardly left adolescence. Playing with my miniatures, dolls and bears keeps me young at heart and I see no reason to change now, besides I have a history of celebrating mile stones with mini houses. My gran got me my large Tudor by Robert Stubbs when I was 18 and most birthdays since then have been graced by something in the miniature line. Traditions should not be given up lightly.

So here is my new abode, a castle. I've wanted a castle for ages. I saw this come up on Ebay and  everything seems stacked against me getting it but sometimes magical things happen. I have so many ideas running though my head at the moment I've no clue what I'll end up doing. The ideas range from historical medieval, fantasy and dragons to modern and museums. As you can see I haven't been able to resist having a little play already with characters from other settings but who this will be Home Sweet Home for is still to be decided. I have the joy of planning ahead but for now I'm just going to sit and dream for a while.

Anyone still out there?

Knock, knock anyone still around in miniature blogging land? It's been so long since I've been here myself I'm a little lost. I hold my hands up I got seduced away by the vastness of Facebook but the grass isn't always greener and I've been missing the old friendliness of the blogging world. So I'm creeping back and trying to recapture a lost blog. I've given it a face lift, removed posts that were outdated and a sparkling new name to better reflect where I want to travel in my miniature journey. I'll stick the kettle on in case anyone wants to pop in for a cuppa.

A Mad Tea Party (unplaned)

Welcome to the 9th annual Mad Tea Party
once more lovingly hosted by Vanessa of A Fanciful Twist.

Please do find a table to sit and enjoy your visit.

.and of course no party is complete without a party cake showstopper,
Would you like a slice?

Thank you kindly for paying me a short visit, I do hope you can call again. I hold my hands up
and admit this wasn't the party post I'd planned but my card reader choose today of all days to go kaput and plans had to change. After having a Queen of hearts style tantrum and thinking of dropping out, the magic of Pinterest came to my rescue and I found these delicious pictures to share. Once I can release my own  photos from the camera which both Sassy Alice and Mr R. White (both beautifully made by Rhissanna) posed so lovely for I'll do another Un party post or maybe just scatter them through the blog. I can vouch that the cakes I brought and made did taste lovely. Currently Sassy Alice with her arms crossed is having a slight strop and keeps shooting barbed glances my way over her photos not being used and I do believe Mr White has also scurried off to sulk. I'm going off to have another cake (did I mention they tasted lovely hehe) and over this weekend look forward to visiting you all.
